Going Blue!

Hello!

Its been a VERY long time since my last update, and for that I'm very sorry, hopefully today's update will make up for that!

As you may or may not have guessed by the title or logo above Ive once again picked up another faction (its been pointed out recently, I don't collect a faction, I collect the whole game!)

The reason behind it was quite simple......STORMWALL!

The second he was released I rushed down to my LGS (Mad For Miniatures) and picked him up. After the club that night I set about building one of the coolest models Ive ever seen! The kit itself is lovely, but that's for another time! After a quick trip to the back garden to undercoat him I set about painting him.......Fast forward 12 hours and he was done!

At this point I had no intention of starting a new faction, I just wanted to own a Colossal, I was happy for him just to sit in the display cabinet, next to my Retribution, looking very very cool. I wont deny playing with some lists in my head, but that was as far as it went....until my lovely wife asked the question "did you rely just spend nearly £100 on a model your not going to use" to which I replied " your right darling I should start a Cygnar army".

Next day I was off down to the LGS again to pick up some models for my new Cygnar army. I came home and built up and painted the following -

Ive also finished Sloan, eCaine and a pair of Hunters, but for some reason they have evaded the Camera!

A few weeks into my Cygnar journey I was chatting to a local Cygnar player and he mentioned that he might be willing to part with his sizable Cygnar force! A little bargaining later and I'm spraying fairy power spray into an ice cream tub!

I know have nearly the entire faction......not bad for a month :p

My aims for this week are to get Arlan painted and test out a few lists, including the following -

"BUT WAIT!"  I hear you cry. "WHERE IS STORMWALL?"

Ive noticed that every game Ive won with my Cygnar so far has included him, so I'm going to give him a one game break, don't worry tho the big guy will be destroying everyone again soon!

BIG PAINTING UPDATE!

 So...its been a while.....

Whilst Ive been a little lax on updating the blog, I have still been busy painting!

First up we have some Legion!

Next some Circle! (Yes that's right I'm painting Circle as well now ;) )

Im not the only one who has been busy! Hannah has finished loads more Trollbloods!

Ive also just built this guy....

Really looking forward to getting some paint on him!

Tale update

As several of us are playing in the ETC this year we have put the tale on hold until afterwards, I still have a battle report to put up tho, so some coverage will appearing soon!

The Tale of Four Warcasters - Month 2 painting results

Hello!

First of all I need to apologise, we did not manage to get in our games for this month, Local tournaments and leagues have eaten up all our gaming time! We will endeavour to get some games in this month!

I also need to apologise for the lateness of this post, a lack of photo's from a certain Merc and Steve moving house did not help! ;) 

Darren

This month Darren painted the Lord of the Feast!

Darren also sent me some pictures of his WIP additions for this month!

Tom

This month Tom added a minimum unit of Horgenhold Forgeguard, this leaves him a couple points behind everyone else, but he plans to catch up this month!

Steve

Steve has been very busy this month, moving into a new house! He did manage to get a little bit of painting done and assures me it will be all finished by the end of the month, along with his new additions.

Matt (me)

This month I added Yuri the axe. This puts me a point behind everyone else, but ill catch up this month!

This month I plan to add the Battle engine and a 2 point solo....which one I'm not sure!


The Month ahead

The aim for this month is -

• Play one game
• Get your army up to 25 points.

LEGION!

Hello!

Its been a while since I picked up my Legion of Everblight for a game, but the other day I did just that! I used Kallus a few times against some of the Local club members and within a few games I was once again hooked on the might of blight!

After the games with Kallus I decided to switch back to some of my favourite casters from the last outing with Legion, so out came pThagrosh and pVayl.

I like playing pVayl in bigger games as you can really go beast heavy, and with the legion beasts being as amazing as they are why wouldn't I want to do that!....oh and incite ;) The difficult choice Ive had is the use of Typhon in a multi list event, whilst he Thagrosh's best chum I feel he works so much better with pVayl, he is a perfect choice as her bodyguard AND his sprays are devastating under incite!

So as an apology  to Thagrosh I purchased him some new friends!

May I present to you THE WARMONGERS

I also failed to resist the temptation of picking up the Throne of Everblight, whilst its not finished yet Ive managed to get it a fair way!

Whilst I was at it I also picked up the rest of the Legion warlocks, so expect them soon!

The Tale of four Warcasters - Month one painting results!

Hello!

The first month is now over in our little challenge, each player now has a fully painted Battlegroup!

Darren

Darren cast his bases himself!

Tom

Tom will have to paint a little more than most next month as Gorten's Battlegroup comes in at only 8 points!

Steve

Steve has used the extreme sculpt over the standard Gladiator.....its massive!

Matt (me)

I really like how the 'Black Ivan' Scheme turned out, I'm quite proud of the bases as well, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all looks on a battle engine or colossal! For next month im thinking about adding Yuri the axe!

MONTH TWO

The month two challenges are -

• Play 1 game.
• Paint enough to get your force up to 15 points.

Hopefully I should have an update with what everyone is adding soon, maybe even a battle report ;)

A tale of 4 Warcasters - A few weeks in......

Hello!

The April 1st deadline is fast approaching......but how is everyone doing?

Darren has been VERY busy painting his Circle Warpack, the basing in particular is pretty awesome! I'm hoping to get some more details for the next update!

Tom

Tom was struck down by the dreaded man flu, so no update this week!

Steve

Steve's massive Titan Gladiator arrived AND he assembled it straight away!

No pictures for me this week I'm afraid, I have managed to get some work done tho! Ive decided that the Black Ivan scheme is the way forward, Ive finished the base colours on one of the Warjacks, I'm hoping to finish him this week, so I should have pictures ready for the next update! After that it should not take long to get the rest done!
